Spring

Spring

A kiss from the sun tickling my cheek

Rainbow of colors with buckets of flowers

Giggling children splashing in the waves at the beach

Chocolate ice cream making your mouth happy

My mom when she takes a shower and smells like the flowers in the garden

Persephone Farm

While at the Farmer's Market this weekend, we met Rebecca of Persephone Farm. After purchasing leeks, radishes, beets, eggs, and mixed greens (all were beautiful and delicious), we joined the farm's CSA - Community Supported Agriculture. Starting in June and ending in October, each week we will received a box full of fresh-picked vegetables and a flower bouquet. On opening day, June 2, we will go to the farm for our first pick-up and meet the owners and interns who farm, have a tour of their 13-acre farm, eat samples, and have the opportunity to add on optional shares of bread, cheese, eggs, salmon, berries, fruit, extra salad, and wine.

We are looking forward to a summer and fall of fresh and healthy eating!

Anna's Poetry

I am like a star in the sky
Twinkling above the moon for everybody to see

I am dancing in the sky
The moon plays the saxophone

Blogging

I have decided that I love to read blogs but do not love to write one. I promise I'm going to make more of an effort. I have pictures from Emily's horse riding lessons and our trip to Hawaii to share. There are a few upcoming events I would like to post about too - Anna's 9th birthday and our spring break trip to Oregon.

I'll be bbbaaaccckkk!

'Tis the Season

Last weekend we went to Grandma's Christmas Tree Farm and cut down out tree. It was a crisp, clear day. With cups of hot apple cider, we roamed the farm and found our perfect tree.

Each year, Grandmama gives the girls an ornament for Christmas. Waterford crystal ornaments for Emily and Santa Radko ornaments for Anna. We decided it was time to put up just the girls ornaments (with our beaded stars) on the tree this year - it looks beautiful.

Holiday Favorites

Anna asked me sit with her on the couch and watch Frosty the Snowman with her last night. We snuggled and watched the entire show - I savored every minute of it!

When I was young, I remember looking forward to the day and time the holiday cartoons were showing on TV. We didn't have a DVR or DVDs - you had to watch it when it came on or you were out of luck.

My all time favorite is A Year Without a Santa Claus. Why? The Heat Miser. Who wouldn't love a face like this? Click here to listen to his song.

Cold and Sunny

Who said it is gray and rainy all winter in the northwest?
